How to print, cut, and assemble a Vinyl Inner Sleeve
Inner sleeves are typically made from thinner paper stock and folded to hold the record inside the outer jacket.
- Print on lighter stock (around 60lb – 80lb text)
- Cut clean edges and score folds if needed
- Glue or tape the side seam depending on your template
- Optionally cut out the center hole to reveal the record label beneath
- Allow for slight bleed — the design extends past trim lines intentionally
This generator creates print-ready inner sleeves with properly spaced panels and fold lines. You can add track listings, lyrics, credits, artwork, or patterns, and the layout will adapt to match classic vinyl insert proportions.
Why inner sleeves?
Inner sleeves protect the record, but they’re also a canvas. Many albums use them for lyrics, liner notes, photography, or extended artwork that doesn’t fit on the outer jacket.
The center cutout became a signature detail — letting the label peek through while still framing the design.
It’s a small piece of packaging, but it adds a lot to the overall experience.

Inner sleeves are often overlooked, but they’re one of the most flexible formats for creativity — whether you're recreating vintage styles, adding liner notes, or designing something entirely new.
