Why audio cassettes?
Audio cassettes were the dominant format for music distribution from the 1970s through the early 2000s. They represented freedom - the ability to create your own mixtapes, record from the radio, and share music with friends.
The mixtape was an art form. You'd spend hours curating the perfect playlist, recording songs in the right order, and designing a custom label. It was personal, tactile, and meaningful in a way that digital playlists can't quite capture.
Why did you make this?
Several people asked me if I'd make it, so what you’re looking at is just the start. Making mixtapes is a labor of love, so I wanted to reduce a bit of the labor. This audio cassette label generator makes it easy to sketch out and print your designs.
