- Print and cut your design, make sure to print at 100% scale
Note that you want to use a thick card stock for that poker deckbox feel. You can also thicken your paper by gluing two sheets of paper together. After printing out your design (and before you cut it out), use spray or contact adhesive.
What is a Cassingle / O-Card?
A cassingle is a cassette single — typically one or two tracks released on tape, similar to a vinyl single. In the late 80s and 90s, these came in lightweight packaging instead of full plastic cases. This kept costs down and made them easier to distribute.
One of the most common formats for cassingles was the O-card — a folded paper sleeve that wraps around the cassette like a belt. Unlike a full case with a J-card insert, the O-card is made from a single sheet and forms a compact outer shell.
This design was especially popular for promotional releases, budget editions, and retail displays. It gave just enough space for cover art, track info, and branding, while staying minimal and efficient.
Today, O-cards are a favorite in the DIY cassette scene. They’re simple to print, easy to assemble, and let you create physical tapes without needing to source plastic cases.
