How to make Betamax Slipcovers using the designer

1. Search above 👆 for your movie or TV show title
2. Customize the color scheme and choose from available logos
3. When you’re ready to print your slipcover, click "Download" and choose your paper size to export a PDF (recommended) or PNG. You can also use "Copy" followed by "Paste & Print" to place the design into a printable template. Send it to your print shop, cut it out, assemble it, and slide in your Betamax cassette.

How to print & cut Betamax Slipcovers

1. Because of the thick paper required, you’ll likely need to use a local print shop, even though it fits on a Letter/A4 paper
2. Make sure you print at actual size (100%), not scaled
3. I recommend 14pt card stock / 270gsm / 100 pound cover. You can also laminate thinner stock by spray-mounting it to a second sheet
4. Use the "Download" button above, or "Copy" and paste into Betamax Templates: Letter (8.5 in. x 11 in.) or international: A4 (297mm x 210mm)
5. Cut along the darker lines and fold along the lighter lines
6. Use glue or double-sided tape to secure the flaps, then slide the slipcover over your Betamax case

Why did you make this?

Because Betamax was the superior format. This whole project started because I was gifted a VHS/TV combo, which quickly led me down the path of recording and customizing physical media at home. That curiosity expanded into experimenting with Betamax formats as well.

I looked for a tool that could automatically pull logos, runtimes, directors, and cast information, but couldn’t find one that worked the way I wanted. So I built it.
