Can I do custom VHS polyboxes with my own art?

Yes. There are three good ways to upload your own content.

1. When selecting logos and posters, there is an Upload button.

2. If you want to create your own title that isn't in the TMDB database, use the search, and instead of clicking an existing movie, scroll to the bottom and click 'Create a custom tape'. This method is great for stuff that isn't on TMDB like YouTube shows.

3. My favorite method is to upload assets directly to TMDB, because it helps improve the database. Right below your design, there's a link that says 'Missing a logo or poster?' -- this link takes you directly to that movie's TMDB page. Anything you upload will usually appear in a few hours.

What paper should I use for printing Polycase sleeves?

Most any paper will look pretty good, because it goes into the sleeve. I typically use whatever the heaviest 8.5 x 11 paper that my printer takes and it turns out quite well. If you're international, you'll most likely be printing on A4-sized paper 210mm x 297mm, which the template alsos supports

Are the dimensions accurate for real VHS cases?

Yes! The templates are designed with precise measurements to fit standard VHS cases perfectly. In some cases these boxes vary in size slightly, but these templates should work well for the vast majority of cases, and you can always make adjustments to the print scaling if needed.

Does the VHS designer work on mobile or tablet?

You can design labels on mobile, but you'll need to use a computer for copy, download, and printing. You can test out designs on your phone, and then hit the 'share' button to send it over to yourself for printing later.

Will the VHS polycase work on all browsers?

I do most of my testing on MacOs for Chrome & Firefox, so that's most reliable, but it works pretty well in Windows Edge, Firefox, and Chrome, too. I've had the most trouble getting Safari to work.

How do I avoid print scaling issues?

Accepted Answer

Make sure to UNCHECK 'Scale to Fit' or 'Fit to Page' so that prints at 100%. You want it to print at actual size. Use system dialogs if your browser hides advanced print settings.

Can I make cassette tape labels too?
